50 Cent (d. 6 Temmuz 1975, New York), ABD'li ünlü rap şarkıcısıdır. Asıl ismi Curtis James Jackson III'dır.
Curtis Jackson, new york un queens mahallesinde zor şartlar altında büyümüştür. Babasını tanımayan Curtis, 8 yaşına kadar annesinin yanında büyür. Annesi bir uyuşturucu satıcısıydı ve Curtis 8 yaşında iken öldürüldü.Annesinin bir arkadaşı onu uyuşturucu konusunda sorun cıkmış ve öldürmüş.Annesinin ölümünden sonra Curtis büyükannesinde kalmaya başlar. Annesinin sayesinde uyşturucu satıcılarına bağlantısı olan Curtis 12 yaşında iken o da uyuşturucu satmaya başlar. Lise yıllarında birkaç defa kısa süre için hapise düşen Curtis ilk ağır cezasını 19 yaşında alır. 21 yaşında iken şu an 11 yaşında olan oğlu Marquise dünyaya gelir.
50 Cent ilk önce rap camiasında tanınmış prodüktör ve Run DMC grubunun üyesi olan Jam Master Jay ve daha sonra dünyaca ünlü olan rapstarı Eminem tarafından keşfedilir. Jam Master Jay'in yardımıyla ilk müzik kontratını Columbia Records ile imzalar. Bu ilk anlaşmasından 5.000 $ alır ve bu parayı yine uyuşturucu alışverişine kullanır.
İlk klip çekiminden önce 9 kurşun yiyerek hastanelik olan Jackson'un kontratı bu olaydan sonra Columbia Records tarafından iptal edilir ve "Power of the Dollar" adlı albümü piyasaya sunulmaz.
Azmini kaybetmeyen Curtis Jackson demo ve mixtape çıkarmaya devam eder. Tesadüfen cd'lerden birtanesi Eminem'in eline geçer. Jackson'un cd'sini beğenen Eminem, onunla bir anlaşma yapar.
